NAMI Basics Celebrates First Graduation

Pictured above are recently trained NAMI Basics teachers, including Tracy Palazzotto (far left), and Christina Halli (middle right), who taught the fall session.

On Thursday, October 11th, NAMI celebrated our first graduating class of our newest program, NAMI Basics. Congratulations to all of the program graduates!

Participants in the class learned about treatment options, how to manage crisis situations, an overview of the biological basis and symptoms of mental illness, self-care strategies, how to be an advocate for their child’s rights within the school system, and a variety of other topics.

NAMI Basics will return again this spring, so be sure to keep an eye out for our program registration announcements. For more information on NAMI Basics or to register for the next session, please visit our website, NAMIerie.org/programs.

NAMI Basics is made possible thanks to a generous grant from The Erie Women’s Fund.
