The Kiwanis Club of Erie will celebrate their 95 years of service to the community by presenting a donation to the National Alliance on Mental Illness and the Family-to-Family program, which helps individuals, children and families that are impacted by mental illness. Both organizations collaborated earlier in the year to host a golf tournament with the proceeds of over $7,000 sponsoring the fall session of this program. With one in four families impacted by mental illness, the demand for mental health education is on the rise. The Family-to-Family class begins on Wednesday, September 7thfrom 6-8:30 p.m. at the Avalon in Downtown Erie. “The Kiwanis Club of Erie recognizes the importance of mental health education because it strengthens the family unit and improves the quality of life for children,” says Tom Kalkhof, President of the Kiwanis Club of Erie.
